“Without boundaries” – this is how opportunities for designs, markets and technology should be, and we’d like to discuss this with you at this year's Rosenheim Window Days. Two aspects are of particular interest here: The first is the lack of boundaries in architecture, as architects and clients often demand the impossible from us: the building components are getting ever bigger, heavier and more complicated – and preferably in anthracite grey. The second is that the open markets enable the removal of barriers to trade and enable the harmonisation of technical regulations.
Despite seemingly opposing trends in Europe, such as the growing “bulkheading” of refugees, the resistance to potential new candidates for EU accession, and an impending global trade war with customs duties and import restrictions, ift Rosenheim remains optimistic and sees more opportunities than risks, because having a “lack of boundaries” is one of humanity’s oldest desires.
In this respect, amongst others, you can look forward to an extravagant facade project presented by Dr.-Ing. Lutz Schöne (Leicht Structural engineering and specialist consulting GmbH) and Michael Freinberger (ift Rosenheim). We're also exploring new paths with the topic of Manufacturing 4.0 – not a topic one would generally expect to see on a typical Window Day. Dr Christoph Pollak will present current approaches to digitisation in discrete manufacturing.
As before, we believe in the power of harmonised rules and in the fact that only the continuous testing of boundaries, and the challenge of making the impossible possible, will bring us success in a free and fair competitive environment. We are looking forward – and indeed full of “boundless” enthusiasm – to welcoming you back to Rosenheim.
